Jean-Marc Superville Sovak is an artist and illustrator whose artwork always involves some degree of audience participation. Jean-Marc has interviewed strangers while drawing their portraits, he’s made candid video portraits of his doppelgangers, and he’s led weekly hour-long public walking tours of bricks used to build New York City housing projects. Jean-Marc is a museum educator and guide at Dia:Beacon and also He is the illustrator of the award-winning novel Into The Dangerous World , a collaboration with his wife, Julie Chibbaro. Recently, Jean-Marc is dedicated to the idea that the best piece of artwork he could make is one that he can live in.
Julie Chibbaro is an award-winning author of Into the Dangerous World (Viking), a Junior Library Guild Selection. She is also the author of Deadly (Simon & Schuster, Scholastic) winner of the 2011 National Jewish Book Award. Julie’s first novel, Redemption (Simon & Schuster 2004), won the 2005 American Book Award. Julie is a mentor for the PEN Prison Writing Program. She has fallen in love with a man who builds tiny homes.
